Alberto Del Rio has had out-of-the-ring issues for years. In 2020, he was
accused of abuse by former
WWE star Paige.
“It’s like it’s up to six, seven hours a day, you’re literally trapped in a certain room and getting your ass beat every couple of minutes, you know what I mean?” she said at the time.
The couple split in 2017. Earlier that same year, Del Rio was
indicted on charges of kidnapping and sexual assault. He allegedly threatened to take the victim’s son and “drop him in the middle of the road somewhere.” The woman also claimed that Del Rio sexually assaulted her with his penis and other body parts.
Fast forward almost six years, and now Del Rio is back in trouble again.
Former WWE star Alberto Del Rio was arrested for alleged domestic violence in Mexico. The 48-year-old, whose real name is Alberto Rodriguez, was reportedly detained by police in the capital of San Luis Potosí. He allegedly assaulted his wife, who called 911 and filed a complaint.
She alleged Del Rio had committed physical and verbal assault. When the authorities arrived, they reportedly found signs of injury, including marks on her face and arms. Her call came at the right time as reports suggested they reached the scene while the alleged assault was still taking place.
Del Rio was taken into custody on the spot,
according to LAAFICION. Punishment for domestic violence could come with one to seven years in prison, according to the outlet.

Alberto Del Rio is now under the jurisdiction of the Attorney General’s Office of the State of San Luis Potosí for the corresponding charges.
Things weren’t always bad for him. He signed with WWE in 2009 and debuted on the main roster a year later. Del Rio went on to become the first person to win the Royal Rumble and the Money in the Bank ladder match in 2011.
He left the company in 2014.
