The very first human being to be born was a spiritually condemned murderer. And the human race went downhill from there.
You wanna know the true tragedy of Cain? It's a lesson that applies to us. The murder of Abel did NOT seal his fate. God asked Cain where his brother was. Obviously, God knew what Cain had done. He knows and sees all. Why did He ask this question of Cain? It was God's patience being shown. It was His opportunity for Cain to admit his sin and repent!
Unfortunately for Cain, he answered with a lie and petulant sarcasm. "I do not know. Am I my brother's keeper?"
It was THEN that God delivered His judgement on Cain, not after the murder.
