Because you'd have to give something up to get him, and The Patriots wouldn't be pushing it if it was over a 6th or 7th round pick. They'd just have pulled the trigger.
I don't know man, there's no way the team would (or should) take equal or worse draft capitol than they paid for the player, a 5th isn't enough IMO. He's already here, he's already improved as a player.

It's not that cut and dry, though. He's 25, if memory serves. He's trapped behind the perceived QBOTF, who's also the QB of the now. He's reportedly pushing to be traded because he wants to start. His "improvement" was one game against a team that wanted to lose that game. And he's not a Vrabel pick.

There's always someone will take a chance. He'd fit in well with the Chiefs. They have a criminal atmosphere there. Lots of player issues along with their family members and #1 fan.
1. In most cases, a backup QB thinking he should be the starter who hasn't done anything is bad news. Now had Milton played earlier in the season, he'd have a case as Maye struggled badly even losing to a team picking 1st overall (Tennessee) and getting blown out by a team picking after NE (JAX). Maye had 1 legitimate win against the Bears who are the picking 10th, but was losing against the Jets where Brissett gifted him the other win. I'm not as high on Maye as some fans and media are. The diapers need to come off this season. Jimmy G had said he thought he was better than Tom Brady after playing a couple quarters. That asshole needed go.
2. What Milton did playing hero ball by trying way too hard to extend plays, scrambling around and chucking it downfield most likely pissed off ownership. Bro was playing like it was the super bowl while the other team couldn't wait to get the game over with without injuries. They did him a solid trading him as I thought they'd cut his ass.
I don't see it, not a scheme fit, and he's old and hurt all the time. They already added the culture setters, now they need to get young going forward to get better and build the culture as a winner. .

... And none of those make sense as a trade target for the Patriots. Parsons would, but his asking price on top of trade costs would push his overall cost up too much.
