Deep Fried Bacon Chili Cheese Milkshake
Ingredients:
- 1 cup of milk
- 4 scoops of vanilla ice cream
- 1/2 cup of shredded cheddar cheese
- 4 strips of bacon
- 1/4 cup of canned chili
- 1/4 tsp of chili powder
- 1/4 cup of flour
- 1 egg
- 1 cup of breadcrumbs
- Oil for frying
Instructions:
First, cook the bacon until crispy and crumble into small pieces. In a blender, combine the milk, vanilla ice cream, shredded cheddar cheese, canned chili, chili powder, and half of the crumbled bacon. Blend until smooth and creamy. Pour the mixture into a tall glass and set aside. In three separate bowls, place the flour, beaten egg, and breadcrumbs. Dip each strip of bacon in the flour, then the egg, and finally the breadcrumbs. Heat the oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F. Carefully place the breaded bacon strips in the hot oil and fry until golden brown and crispy. Remove from the oil and let drain on a paper towel. Once the bacon is fried, insert one or two strips into the milkshake and garnish with the remaining crumbled bacon. Serve immediately and enjoy the unique combination of flavors in this indulgent deep fried bacon chili cheese milkshake.

Just had this grilled cheese at 1 of my favorite little restaurants that no one would ever expect to be this good because it's in a little strip plaza and looks like nothing on the outside but it has some of the most inventive and delicious dishes I've eaten.

Blackberry ice cream was my #1 as a kid. We'd go to a diary farm just over the border into NH ... can't remember the name. Pure, real ice cream with all the fat and flavor.
