What a downfall from Bill to Mayo. Bill always slowed our offense even with mediocre QB play by the Patriots offense the defense kept the games close. That's why Brady's career will be overlapped soon.

I agree the Patriots could have created more cap space in 2023 if they had been more aggressive, though I’m glad they didn’t since they were far from being competitive and now they they won’t need to pay off void years and dead cap hits for players during a lost season.
Sure, but the cost was shitty play, and those things didn't need to be exclusive. Granted it was certainly not all about money, but they could have dipped into the millions that'll be there this year, without any real loss to the team. Plus, that would have meant that there were that many fewer holes to fill for the 2024 team.
Think real hard on what you said. Ignore the issue of it being right or wrong, and just focus on the second QB in your equation in comparison to Brady and the other all-time best QBs.
we've heard all of this before.. the media would fellate rodgers weekly and crown him as the most talented QB that has ever graced a football field with their presence... and they would make excuse after excuse for him not living up to their grandios status they annointed him to
Mahomes is going the same route, although he's better than Rodgers (and less annoying, not counting his flaming brother and birdbeaked obnoxious wife).. at least Mahomes has backed his up with playoff wins and SBs.. last year was a joke tho in terms of refs being completely in their pocket
longevity matters.. i remember mahomes wife was offended that people were referring to patrick mahomes as the "baby goat" before he matched up against Brady in SB... they're obnoxious and entitled, want to be at the top of the mountain without having to do the long climb
Mahomes has 2 rings, he's got 5 more to go to match Brady... and Brady has countless epic moments in his career, like that Falcons SB, etc... just amazingly great moments to go along with all those SB runs that will be part of NFL Films for the next 200+ years..
for context, Brady still gets shade for the tuck rule game (a rule called 9 times that year, including in regular season against patriots and was called correctly)... but Mahomes in last year's playoff run alone had like 10 different tuck rule moments that helped bail them out

Yes, it can definitely get worse. At this point, I'm not optimistic, but there's a shit-ton of offseason to go. Let's see who they hire for OC/DC, who they resign, who they add in FA, and how they draft. I'm rooting for Mayo to be a good coach, and to mature a bit when it comes to talking to the media.
