2026 Red Sox thread

All the executives need to be fired, up to and including that cheap piece of shit Henry!!

Understood; but some people here seem to be under the delusion that Cora himself didn't deserve to be fired... EIGHT-PLUS fucking years, even longer than Tito was given here... Good. Fucking. Riddance.

Cora gets some blame for sure but it's hard to coach AA and AAA talent against real MLB talent. He had shit to work with and you can see the results.

Starting with the shipping off of Betts for an incredibly shitty return, Henry has been all about the money, and the player acquisition has reflected that. People blaming Cora for the results gotten with these teams would blame a chef for not giving them a 5 star meal when the only ingredients given to him were literally dog shit, dirt and cat piss.

One doesn't have to worship Cora to know that he's been given a pretty shitty hand in the post-Betts era. One just has to look at the rosters, which you've noted have been mostly garbage.

Today's a great day!!! All the starters are hitting over .200. Enjoy Red Sox Nation!! Maybe we should break out into a chorus of Sweet Caroline to celebrate.

Edit: Never mind Durbin still at .165

I don't give a rat's ass about politics, but substitute "Yankees" for "MAGA", and I find it hilarious!!!

Beckett had texted WEEI Radio's Rob Bradford the firing of Cora was "like sh---ing your pants and changing your shirt." Bradford revealed Beckett on the latest episode of the "Baseball Isn't Boring" podcast.

Beckett was teammates with former pitcher and current Red Sox Chief Baseball Officer Craig Breslow - who was fully credited by ownership with Cora's firing.

Beckett was a 3-time All-Star for Boston and was part of the 2007 World Series winning Red Sox team.

"I thought [Cora] was the perfect guy to be there and stable that ship," Beckett said. "I kind of felt like that saying fit for this team."
The anonymous former Red Sox player whose text went viral over the firing of manager Alex Cora was Josh Beckett.
