In his first season with the Red Sox,Bill Mueller won the 2003 American League batting title with a .326 batting average.Notably he was the first player in MLB history to hit a grand slam from both sides of the plate in a single game.Bill also earned a Silver Slugger Award and played a crucial role in the 2004 World Series championship season.Mueller is remembered as a "Dirt Dog" player who was instrumental in breaking the "Curse of the Bambino.”He hit nearly half of his career home runs during his three years with the Red Sox where Mueller developed a reputation for consistency.
