He's best as a 3rd safety in today's game, at least in the team's current system. If wants to stay in New England and be paid accordingly, I'm all for it. If he wants big money, I wish him good luck getting it elsewhere and hope that the Patriots don't make the mistake of giving it to him here.

for a starting safety, that is an absolute steal

he's in for a huge raise via free agency

yea agreed

i think he provided a lot of value for us at $2.5M, essentially being our starter and doing a decent job when he's probably more of a roleplayer

wouldn't blame him at all for going for 4x the salary in free agency, but i wouldn't want to pay him that.. id rather get a true starting quality safety (which isnt easy to do, they dont grow on trees)

i just have to acknowledge that his level of play and salary did provide us good value this year, not trying to say he's some amazing safety or anything... but hard to complain at $2.5M to have a full time starter that played at an average level
