Savage is a moron, it's a pretty easy trade to understand. Denver unloads a solid young player in a crowded WR room, Saints get a guy who doesn't have a bad concussion history, who has size and good hands. Shaheed is a good player but he's a speedy deep shot type.

I'm going to have to defend Savage a bit here:
Vele was a 7th round pick last season, and the Saints just gave up a 4th, above and beyond sending a returning 7th, for him. He showed some promise last season, but this is a pretty steep price for such a player when he was no higher than his team's WR6 this late into training camp.

Trading Diggs defeats the purpose of trading for McLaurin, so it should be an absolute non-starter.
