this guy is going to be a beast of a pick, i can feel it
I've been longing for a stud RB that was drafted by the Pats since Curtis Martin. Ridley was the closest having a fantastic 2012 season. But, we haven't had a drafted RB have more than one good season since Martin.

Some thoughts on camp so far...

Chaisson has been arguably the best defensive player in camp according to a few of the local beat guys. That would be huge for our pass rush. He's still only 26 and really turned it on at the end of last year.

Pop, Kyle Williams and Henderson's speed showing up out there.. much needed for this team. I think whatever the group is at WR that make the team are going to be underrated. Diggs at the top raises the floor of this group and will shift attention away from other guys that can make plays.

Love the news on Wilson. He's going to be a stud. I am very concerned about OT depth though.

Very bummed about Lampe, not sure what the team will do about FB. They need one for sure now.

I'm encouraged with the reports about DJ James and Tonga as depth pieces. I think they both have a good shot to make the team.

Drake Maye!! He seems to have it, I wasn't worried about the physical tools, QB is all about the mental... and I believe he has it.

Diggs will cause a ripple effect for everyone else.

Even though Moss was starting his decline in 2010, teams still respected him which opened up Grand Canyon sized holes in the middle of the field for Welker, Hernandez and Gronk to operate.

Absolutely. Lets not forget Hunter Henry is a really good player too, he was the go-to guy last year, leading the team in receiving. Him and Hooper are a solid duo, hopefully on of the rooks can step up into the 3rd spot

Robert Edwards could have been that guy.

Rhamondre is a good player, he's just had some shit luck of being on bad teams behind really bad Oline's. He's also had durability and fumble issues but I'd bet on a team like Detroit, LAC, or other team with a good line/scheme his production would be much better.

Having him and Henderson could be huge ... should be huge. If Rhamondre can just settle down a little it gives Henderson time to learn and adapt. then start running some two back sets with them. both can run, both can catch, both are powerful enough for pass protection.

And this line should be good at run blocking.

Good point on Simmons.

Has there been another team that blew a chance at the #1 pick the last game of the season?

The Texans did it for the 2023 draft. Then the Panthers traded with the Bears and took Bryce Young instead of C.J. Stroud.

How soon we forget the 1981 Toilet Bowl...

WR group seems to be taking shape, though special teams ability could change things:

Diggs
Williams
Douglas
Hollins
Boutte
Bourne

The rest seem to be on the outside looking in, at least right now.

Too much sub-starting-caliber mediocrity there. Nobody's scaring anyone.

Cole Strange is what he is - a really bad decision by BB in the first round.

And let's not forget BB traded down when many fans wanted McDuffie. This is one of those decisions where an Owner is justified in meddling before doing something like this.

The trade-down I didn't mind so much... It was what Bill did with the picks that really fucking pissed me off.

Ridley was a multi-round overdraft.
