Not sure where you got the notion that a Christian wearing a cross is automatically blasphemy. I've never seen any biblical proof about such a claim. A cross is not an idol, unless one worships the cross itself.

Having said that, I would not wear a crucifix. I'd view it as too close a question to needlessly risk God's wrath over it.
