2025 Draft thread

They seem like very similar players. I had honestly seem some Noel highlights and wanted to draft him. But I hadn't looked into Williams tape, only going off what others were saying, and it was that they were closely ranked. After watching Williams and hearing about his personality though, I like the pick. He's a damn explosive player, which seems to be the theme of this draft.
I gotta correct myself here... Noel and Williams are similar size/build/athletically, with a slight advantage to Noel in testing. But Noel is mostly a slot player and projects to play there whereas Williams has more experience moving around, playing at X/Z, and versatility. He's going to likely play outside for the most part, and he's really good there.

Why do people just ass-ume that Williams can play outside while Noel has to play inside, when they are nearly identical in build and Noel is the clearly superior athlete?

Jalen Royals should've been the pick at 106 too.

FUCK Will Stumpy Rex Campbell... and FUCK the ENTIRE fucking New England Fucking PATSIES to FUCKING HELL; and that Right Soon.

There are actually 47 fucking m-m-morons on the PatsFans site who are OK with what happened last night. I will be praying to my lord & master Ganja Satan that there aren't 47 fucking retards here too.

In the words of a late, great man of radio: I hope this new administration Fails, Miserably.
I haven't heard your thoughts on the draft, so I had to search for it. I'm taking it you didn't like their draft? As the Pats drafts have gone the last 10 years, it's going to go one of two ways: they make an impact early or they show they're a bust right away. We haven't had an impact player(s) since Chandler Jones and Donta Hightower in 2012. I've read Campbell's arms are the shortest since the year 2000. We'll know very early on if this will be a problem. If this draft is a bust, Wolf will be gone unless Maye pulls a Peyton Manning 1999 and takes over the division. The FA signings (Williams and Davis) will have a lot of pressure on them as well.

I think it's mostly based off where they played, and had success in college.. basically it's what the tape says, and while Noel had slightly better (by fractions of seconds) athletic testing, I'd argue by watching the tape Williams seems to be faster, quicker and more athletic on the football field.

I like Henderson and think he’s going to be a star here, but going with him over Luther Burden, III is a head scratcher. God, I wanted Burden there.

Many of the Pats beat guys think he was off the board for the team because of character concerns

We may have that conversation again like in 2019 that the Pats should've double dipped at WR since they have a track record of taking the wrong guy.

This is going to sound gross, because they did it last year with Polk... but I think they went "safe" as far as character with Williams because he's got that good-guy/leadership personality according to the draft people. That said, Polk did not have the eye-popping highlights that Williams has.

On Henderson, he's gonna eat in Josh's system.. We've always had that guy under Josh, and Hendo is easily the most physically talented out of them all. Add in his elite pass blocking and importance of his role on the offense and the draft capitol makes sense to me.

You're right, I didn't like the Stumpy Wrecks pick. I also acknowledge that there were Zero trades to be made. Therefore, I would've taken Kelvin Banks.

I did like the TreVeon Henderson pick, however. Once Jayden Higgins was gone 4 picks earlier, I thought that Henderson & TE Mason Taylor were the best available playmakers at 38, ahead of even Luther Burden & Tre Harris. Josh McD has had all year to watch Henderson up-close, so his fingerprints are likely all over this pick. Finally, a legit replacement for SweetFeet.

Some people like Chris Simms really like Kyle Williams, but I still didn't like him ahead of Jaylen Noel at 69. Now if Williams had been available at 95 then I probably would've taken him there too. If he hadn't been, then I would've taken FS (and, at long last, a legit Devin McCourty replacement) Xavier Watts ahead of Jared Wilson, even as I admit the tremendous value Wilson provided. DMac was a far superior athlete, however, and that does give me pause...

One thing about the trade-down from 77 to 85: I would've DEMANDED that the Panthers give us 140 instead of 146... And one thing about the trade-down from 85 to 95: I would've DEMANDED that the filthy fucking Queefs throw in 257 as well; otherwise they can go FUCK. OFF.

I also didn't like the Not the Son of Charles or Rod Woodson pick at 106, at all. They should've just drafted Watts at 95 and hoped that Wilson slipped past Atlanta & LV to 106. If he didn't, then I would've taken WR Jalen Royals, whom I had already considered taking at 69 & 95 anyway.

At 140 (Not 146) I would've chosen Bradyn Swinson ahead of Joshua Farmer, even while admitting the tremendous value Farmer provided. Still not sure if he is our run-stuffing complement to Millie Willie & Barmore (who I doubt ever plays at his previously banked-on level again)...

I then trade 144 to Cleveland just like Seattle did for 166 & 192, the Brownies' two next picks. And at 166, ass-uming that Farmer is long gone by now, and secure in the knowledge that we might very well have our FS of the Future, I'm now ready to draft my Yearly CB (same as DE, OT & WR, a CB should be selected in EVERY draft you have)... These are the last of the good ones too, so if you don't take one either here or at 171 then you're shit outta luck: because we all know, except for the real two-input front orifice homos among us here & elsewhere, that the grotesquely over-paid Carlton the Doorman Davis WILL be hors de combat for At Least 6-8 games this season, as usual... My choice, from a group consisting of the two Ohio State kids Burke & Hancock, plus Dorian Strong, Zah Frazier, Zy Alexander & Bilhal Kone, is... Zah Frazier, the long & athletic - though older & not particularly bright - Outside CB from the same program that produced Tariq Woolen 3 years earlier; and I'm sure as shit not making that same fucking mistake again.

At 171 (I don't need to make the trade-down to 182 for 228), I select the best available 0/1-Tech By FAR left in the draft: Mississippi's JJ Pegues. Dude can also be used in goal-line packages for us, on OFFENSE...

At 192, lo and behold, who should still be available but the OTHER OT on the U of Texas OL, Cam Williams, who some projected to go nearly ONE HUNDRED picks earlier... He'll never be a Left Tackle in the NFL, but we already HAVE one of those now; he'll instead be our Right Tackle of the Future and learn from one of the best at that position over the past decade.

With our FOUR 7th-round picks - 217 (because if Jerrah doesn't want to part with a measly 5th-rounder for Joe Milton without insisting that we give him the First pick of the 7th round as well, then he can go FUCK. OFF. too), 220, 238 (because I did Not trade-up with Seattle) & 257 from KC - I'll take either WR Nick Nash if I drafted Wilson at 106; or RB Damien the Newest Omen Martinez if I drafted Royals instead... Then I'll take either LB Cody Lindenberg or S/LB Hunter Wohler as a possible future Uncle Dugg &/or Marty McPoo replacement... Then I'll take either Iowa TE Luke Lachey if I drafted Nash at 217; or Ohio State Center Seth McLaughlin and give him a red-shirt year to recover from his Achilles injury, if I drafted Martinez instead... And finally at 257 I'll take as Mister Irrelevant the fucking Kicker, but Not the greasy Grammatica one the f-f-fucking m-m-morons in the Patsies' front orifice took but the Florida State one Ryan Fitzgerald... If it were Really up to me however I wouldn't bother drafting one even if the pick were the last one of the draft; I'd rather use it on an inexplicable faller like DE Jared Ivey, CB Zy Alexander or OT Logan Brown, or on one of our QB's former college teammates, C/FB Willie Lampkin, DE Kaiman Islands Rucker or Slot CB Alijah that Huzzie...

Overblown. The kid can play ball and there’s very little concern on a 5-year, rookie deal. Burden likely could have come in here and solidified the split end.

The amount of disrespect you get over at Patsfans is insane. You put in the work!
