2025-2026 Boston Bruins

Gerry Cheevers, the goaltender for the Boston Bruins, etched his name into hockey history during the 1971-72 NHL season with an impressive 32-game unbeaten streak.
This remarkable achievement contributed significantly to the Bruins securing the Stanley Cup that year.
Cheevers was known for his distinctive goalie mask adorned with stitch marks, symbolizing where pucks had hit him—a creative idea that became an enduring symbol of his tough and fearless style of play.
His performance during that unbeaten streak exemplified his exceptional skills and determination, solidifying his reputation as one of the most formidable goaltenders of his time.

Many of his games were back-and-forth affairs; but if the Bruins scored in the 3rd period to take the lead, he rarely if ever surrendered it.

I would trade one of their over-paid, over-rated Defencemen for a scoring LW; then they might actually be on to something if K-Nut & Minten can chip-in points like they've been doing this past week with Pasta...

LW - Mittelstadt, K-Nut, new guy

Centre - ZaZa, Lindholm, Minten

RW - Pasta, Geek, Arvidsson

This team's going nowhere, and the kids are probably going to be here next season. I'd wait until that shakes out, or at least until the upcoming FA period, before making any kind of "significant" moves.

A fan has been seriously injured following an altercation in Boston on Saturday during a National Hockey League game.

The incident occurred during a Saturday afternoon game contested between the hometown Boston Bruins and New York Rangers, with the incident in question happening just after 3:00 pm in the afternoon.

A fight broke out in the crowd between two men and ended with one fan falling down the staircase in horrific fashion according to early reports coming out of Boston. The fan who fell in the lower bowl of TD Garden Arena, the home arena of the NHL's Boston Bruins, has since been transported to hospital.

The scene appears to have been truly horrifying and chaotic, but I am happy to report that initial indications are that the injured fan is being treated for non-life threatening injuries. Anyone who has been to an NHL arena knows how painful the idea of falling down a staircase inside the arena would be, and this fan is lucky that he wasn't more seriously injured today.

The second fan involved in the incident has been detained and was subsequently arrested following an investigation into this matter. A TD Garden spokesperson has also issued a statement following today's unfortunate events.

"[We] are fully cooperating with authorities and have no further details to share at this time," said the spokesperson as per Boston 25.

I can only hope that the injured fan is going to be ok and that anyone who needs to face justice for their actions in this incident will do so.

Stay tuned for more details on this developing story.

This team's going nowhere,

Tell that to Neely & Sweeney; because unless things go completely down the toilet leading to the trade deadline, it wouldn't surprise at all to see them being buyers before it ends.

Wait for... what, exactly? I'm not suggesting trading any of the young Forwards before first attempting to trade one of the veteran Defencemen, namely (in order of preference to move) Peekey, Lindholm, Laurie, McAvoy & Zadorov, EACH of whom is overpaid &/or overrated in their own special way.

I'm less concerned about fighting among fans than I am at what happened in the post preceding this one.

Even if the kids are great, the team will still need players. So, if you're telling me that you're getting a steal of a deal, that's one thing. But, if we're just talking standard fare, waiting is the smarter move, because more opportunities will open up.

The Eastern Conference is wide open, as is/was the AFC this year; if the Ruins can acquire a scoring LW worthy of all-star consideration and especially with a bit o' size and the rest of their Forwards stay healthy, then I don't see why this team can't compete for a top-8, if not a top-4, EC seeding.

This team has no shot at winning the cup, and it needs higher picks to (hopefully) improve the farm system. So getting into the playoffs is bad.

Normally I would say Hell Yeah to a tank job; but unless they conduct another fire sale similar to last season then I don't think they're currently bad enough or good enough to pick anywhere but in the 12-22 range and if they continue to plod-along at that exact pace then that would indeed be the Worst of both worlds: a 1st-round PO exit/No POs at all; and with a mediocre draft position to boot.
