The New England Patriots will look to extend their winning streak to nine straight wins when they travel to face the Cincinnati Bengals. The Patriots have had streaks of at least nine straight wins three previous times in team history with a 12-game winning streak in 2003, a 16-game winning streak in 2007 and a 10-game winning streak in 2015. This week's game marks the second straight year the Patriots will travel to Cincinnati. Last season, the Patriots opened the year with a 16-10 win at Paycor Stadium.

SERIES HISTORY​

The New England Patriots will travel to Cincinnati to face the Bengals for the second straight season. The Patriots kicked off the 2024 season with a 16-10 win at Cincinnati last year on Sept. 8.
This week's game will be the 29th meeting between the two teams. New England leads the all-time series by a 18-10 margin in a series that dates back to 1968. The Patriots have emerged victorious in eight of the last 10 meetings.
New England is 10-3 all-time at home against Cincinnati, including 4-1 at Gillette Stadium. With the victory last season, the Patriots took an 8-7 lead in road games. The Patriots are 4-2 in games at Paul Brown Stadium / Paycor Stadium.

  • A victory over Cincinnati this week will give the Patriots their 10th win of the season and their 28th 10-win season, which would tie Pittsburgh for the second-most 10-win seasons since 1970. Only Dallas has more (29).
  • A win this week against Cincinnati will give Mike Vrabel his third 10-win season as a head coach. He led the Tennessee Titans to an 11-5 record in 2020 and a 12-5 record in 2021.
  • A win this week at Cincinnati will give the Patriots a 6-0 road record. The Patriots have started with a 6-0 record on the road five previous times.

It is the first time since the 2022 season that the Patriots have had at least three players reach double-digit special teams tackles. That year, Schooler had 14, WR Matthew Slater had 13 and LB Mack Wilson Sr. had 10. LB Marte Mapu has 8 special teams tackles and needs 2 to join Schooler, Gibbens and Elliss with double-digit special teams tackles. The Patriots have had at least three players reach 10 or more special teams tackles 22 times since 1994. The Patriots have had at least four players finish with 10 or more tackles 14 times, with the last time coming in 2011. The team record since 1995 is from 2003, when eight players finished with at least 10 special teams tackles.
  • With a win this week at Cincinnati, Mike Vrabel can become the fifth head coach since 1970 to record a winning streak of nine or more games in his first season with a team, joining Jim Caldwell (14 consecutive wins with Indianapolis in 2009), Steve Mariucci (11 with San Francisco in 1997), Ted Marchibroda (nine with the Baltimore Colts in 1975) and Andy Reid (nine with Kansas City in 2013).

The only game I have seen at Gillette ... Great stadium, even better game.
