I’ve been watching rugby for the first time and it’s a fun sport to follow. That last play by USA was the equivalent of a hail mary, while trailing by 6 points…and first medal for the country in 100 years.

But that clip is why I am happy watching a high school football championship game. Or a college wrestling final. Or whatever.
The Wide World of Sports coined it perfectly. The thrill of victory and the agony of defeat are fascinating to watch when the stakes are huge to the competitors. A high school Division 5 football title is virtually meaningless to most. But to the players? It's everything. Watching it unfold can be amazing.
I watched the clip multiple times. Whoever is
in charge of the actual tv/video production deserves some serious accolades. The way the camera cuts from one emotional character to the next, and juxtaposes them, all in succession, is fucking brilliant. I don’t know someone could direct all that live, in the span of like 30 seconds.
This thread will work only while there's a very small number of people posting. If the numbers here take off, this will become either bloated or ignored.

If it gets bloated, I’ll consider that a good thing.
When the season begins, it will be shrunken down and exclude football / Patriots, which will have its own threads.
But as an example of why I like it, PatsFans didn’t even have a decent NBA Playoffs / Finals thread for the Celtics. It was just a few of us, even though there were many Celtics fans watching the games. It was just off the beaten path in the Basketball forum. With as many members as they have, I think there are plenty of people who would love to live chat about UFC / Boxing, the Celtics, the Bruins, or major must see sports events. It’s just that there’s no go-to place where they know they'll find mutually interested posters.

Maybe go the opposite route - A GameDay Forum, with a pinned "Any live sports talk" thread, and ad-hoc threads for big games (outside of NFL), and weekly TNF, SNF, MNF, Patriots Game Day, and NFL Sunday threads.

Kerr put in Holiday and White and a sluggish 10-10 tie became a roaring 26-14 lead for Team USA.
White followed up this awesome block with a steal on next possession and just nailed a 3. Anyone claiming he wasn’t by far the best player on the court can argue with a wall.
