SERIES HISTORY

The New England Patriots and Miami Dolphins will meet for the first of two scheduled meetings in 2025 this week in Miami. The teams will close out the regular season in the final game of the year at Gillette Stadium. The time and date of that game has not been set yet.
The Patriots have lost four straight games to Miami after being swept in both the 2023 and 2024 seasons. Last year, the Patriots lost 15-10 in the first meeting at Gillette Stadium on Oct. 6 and then lost at Miami, 34-15, on Nov. 24. Overall, the Patriots have lost five straight games at Miami, with the Patriots last win coming in a 43-0 victory on Sept. 15, 2019.
New England has the advantage against Miami in home games, leading the series 38-21 - including 17-6 at Gillette Stadium - but are 17-43 in road games against the Dolphins. The Dolphins and Patriots met for the first time in 1966 and began playing twice a year during the 1967 regular season, except in 1982 during a players' strike.

CLIMBING THE RANKINGS

TE Hunter Henry enters this week ranked fifth among New England tight ends with 203 receptions and needs 5 receptions against the Dolphins this week to move past Russ Francis into fourth place among all New England tight ends.
Henry enters this week in sixth place among New England tight ends of all-time with 2,271 receiving yards and needs 6 yards to move past Ben Watson (2,275) into fifth place.

WHAT TO LOOK FOR

  • The Patriots will look to end a four-game losing streak to Miami and a five-game losing streak at Miami. The Patriots last win against the Dolphins was a 23-21 victory on Jan. 1, 2023, and their last win at Miami was a 43-0 win on Sept. 15, 2019.
  • The Patriots held Las Vegas to just a 2.3-yard rushing average (24 carries for 56 yards) in the season-opener. If the Patriots hold Miami under a 3-yard average this week, it will mark the first time holding a team under a 3-yard average in back-to-back games since the 2023 season when they did so in three-straight games, holding the L.A. Chargers to a 1.2-yard average (12/3), the Steelers to a 2.9-yard average (12/7) and Kansas City to 2.2-yard average (12/17).
  • The Patriots will look to open the season with back-to-back games holding the opponent under 3-yards per rush for the first time since the 2019 season when they opened the year with three straight games holding the opponent under 3 yards per carry – 2.5 yards vs. Pittsburgh (9/8), 2.8 at Miami (9/15) and 1.8 vs. the New York Jets (9/22).
  • The Patriots will face Miami in the second week of the season for the 10th time in team history. Three of those games have been played in Miami with the last one being during the 2019 season.

Season’s probably toast if we find a way to lose this one. McDaniel has lost this team and already seems to have one foot out the door.

think Tyreek Hill has a big game, or will the Gonzo's return keep him shut down?

i need to know for FF.. gotta decide between Terry McClaurin or Tyreek Hill (lost my game because i started those 2 over Marvin Harrison Jr in week 1)

i have 3 solid RBs, so i have RB as my flex (Chubba Hubbard)

well Gino smith just lit us up with a bunch of nobody's. Waddle and hill will have a field day

Gonzo has historically shut Hill down, but he's been out of action for months now with that hamstring so i dont think he can realistically be counted on to perform at that level his first game back

Hill and Waddle won’t be an issue if Tua plays the way he did last week. He looks like he should have retired a year ago.

Gonzalez is back, and Vrabel has completely cucked Josh McDaniels in the media this week (and probably even worse behind closed doors) about his all-time horrible performance last week. This week, Josh's job is to simply sit in the corner and let Drake Maye cook.

Also, Vrabel has a good track record against Tua, unlike the previous 2 clowns we've had as head coahes.

This should be an easy W.
