My great grandmother came to America from Switzerland when she was a little girl in late 1800's. This is her Bible.
It is a French language Bible as that was the language in the part of Switzerland she came from. Inside is written the verse Joshua 1:9, one of my favorites. She also wrote a question. "Is this true?"
She died in western NH in 1918 of the Spanish Flu. She was only 29. My grandfather was only 4 when his mother died. He gave me her Bible before he died at 103 years old.
Inside is a picture of her father and a well preserved pressed 4 leaf clover. It's been in there for over 100 years!
I can't read it, but it's a treasure. I believe I will meet her someday.
